It appears after the mistake of Nadab and Abihu with their strange fire that God instructed Moses to tell Aaron and the remaining priests not to leave the tabernacle because the anointing oil of the Lord was upon them. This was the eighth day since the beginning of priests consecration. According the law, they could have left because seven days had already passed. But God didn't want the present distraction to cause them to leave prematurely when He was up to something... the anointing was present and evident.
