Chris got a chance to sit down with the wonderful Mr Olly Pike after a chance meeting at a wedding a few months back. Chris couldn't wait to get some time chatting to Olly, not only about his flare for books and entertainment but of course to cover the endless list of amazing Childrens films!

This weeks guest is the creator of ‘Pop’n’Olly’ amongst many other things. Having been noted as one to watch on the Independent on Sunday’s “Rainbow List”, Olly has since spoken at London City Hall and Parliament, regarding Children’s Rights and Mental Health in relation to LGBT+ Education.

Olly was shortlisted for a ‘National Diversity Award’ in 2017 for his LGBT+ educational work. His YouTube channel has had over 1 million views and his books are currently being used in UK classrooms and beyond.

Olly's new book is 'Kenny lives with Erica and Martina' is an original story by Olly Pike, inspired by the 1981 book 'Jenny lives with Eric and Martin' by the Danish author Susanne Bösche. Olly's book tells the story of Kenny whose grey world soon becomes a lot more colourful with the arrival of some new neighbours.

Kenny lives with Erica and Martina' aims to teach children about diversity, equality and acceptance. Olly's aim is to get a copy of this book into every UK Primary School by September 2020 (when relationship education will be mandatory in all UK Primary schools), so in true HCL fashion below are the links to go buy his wonderful books.
