1.CHINA OPPOSES TSAI ING-WEN'S “TRANSIT” AND MEETING WITH US HOUSE SPEAKER中方坚决反对蔡英文“过境”窜美并会见美国众议长

China urged the United States to abide【遵守】 by the one-China principle and immediately cease【停止】 all forms of official interaction with Taiwan. A Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson today delivered the remarks regarding Taiwan leader Tsai Ing-wen's "transit" trip through the United States. Zhang Hong tells us more.中方敦促美方遵守一个中国原则，立即停止任何形式的美台官方往来。4月6日，外交部发言人就台湾领导人蔡英文“过境”窜美作出答复。记者张泓带来详细报道。

The Foreign Ministry said in the three China-US joint communiques, the United States has made unequivocal【明确的】commitments on keeping non-official relations with Taiwan. However, over a long period of time, the United States has obstinately maintained the strategy of "using Taiwan to contain China" and breached its commitments. The ministry added it has relentlessly challenged the bottom line and made provocations in matters such as official interaction with Taiwan, arms sales to and military collusion with Taiwan, as well as helping Taiwan expand its so-called "international space," and has continuously obscured and hollowed out the one-China principle.外交部表示，美方在中美三个联合公报中明确承诺仅与台保持非官方关系。但长期以来，美方顽固奉行“以台制华”战略，违背所作承诺，在同台官方往来、对台军售和军事勾连、助台拓展“国际空间”等方面持续越线挑衅，不断虚化掏空一个中国原则。

Such acts have gravely violated the one-China principle and the provisions of the three China-US joint communiques. This seriously infringes upon China's sovereignty and territorial integrity, and sends the wrong signals to separatist forces for Taiwan independence. China firmly opposes and strongly condemns such acts.”

The Chinese Embassy in the United States also made remarks, saying that the US Congress, as a part of the US government, is obligated to strictly abide by the foreign policy that the latter has adopted. No individual should underestimate Chinese people's determination, will and capability to safeguard the country's sovereignty and territorial integrity.        中国驻美国大使馆发言人也发表了谈话，表示美国国会作为美国政府的一部分，理应严格遵守美国政府承认和承诺的外交政策。图谋“以台制华”者必将引火烧身。任何人都不要低估中国政府和中国人民捍卫国家主权和领土完整的坚强决心、坚定意志、强大能力。

2.XUELONG 2 RETURNS FROM ANTARCTICA“雪龙2”号从南极洲返回

The research icebreaker Xuelong 2, or Snow Dragon 2, returned to its home base in Shanghai this afternoon, marking the success of the country's 39th expedition to Antarctica. Zhang Hong has more.4月6日下午，科研破冰船“雪龙2”号返回其在上海的大本营，标志着中国第39次南极洲考察的成功。记者张泓带来详细报道。

After more than one month at sea, Xuelong 2 arrived at its berth at Waigaoqiao at 2pm today.经过一个多月的海上航行，“雪龙2”号于4月6日下午2点抵达上海外高桥的中国极地科考国内基地码头。

It was the third time both Xuelong and Xuelong 2 were involved in the same polar expedition. On this one, they departed at the end of October 2022, and sailed more than 60,000 nautical miles. During more than 5 months of work, researchers measured atmospheric conditions, checked water samples, as well as studied sediment samples and the South Pole's ecosystem.这是“雪龙”号和“雪龙2”号第三次实施“双龙探极”。此次考察队于2022年10月底出发，航行了6万多海里。在5个多月的工作中，研究人员完成了测量大气条件、检查水样、研究沉积物样本和南极的生态系统等工作。

First, we went to Zhongshan Station to pilot for Xuelong; then it was on to Changcheng Station for personnel rotation【换班】 and supplies; and finally, we arrived at Astronaut Sea to observe various conditions and conduct experiments.”

Shanghai Customs and other frontier inspection departments worked together to ensure the crew could disembark quickly.  上海海关和其他边检部门通力合作，确保船员能够快速下船。

3.PUTIN RECEIVES CREDENTIAL FROM 17 FOREIGN AMBASSADORS俄罗斯：普京接受17位新任驻俄大使递交国书

Russian President Vladimir Putin attended a ceremony to receive credentials【国书】from newly appointed foreign ambassadors to Russia at the Kremlin in Moscow yesterday. Putin said that relations between Russia and the United States are experiencing a deep crisis. Stephen Rancourt has the story.

The Russian president received the credentials of 17 foreign ambassadors to Russia yesterday, including those from the United States, the European Union, Syria and Iraq. Putin said that Russia is open to dialogue with all countries and is not going to isolate itself. He added the Russia-U.S. relations are in a deep crisis. 4月5日，俄罗斯总统普京接受了17位外国驻俄大使的国书，包括来自美国、欧盟、叙利亚和伊拉克的大使。普京说，俄罗斯对与世界上任何国家进行建设性合作均持开放态度，无意自我孤立。他补充说，俄美关系正处于深刻危机之中。

Putin met with Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko in the Kremlin yesterday. Lukashenko will take part in the session of the Supreme State Council of the Union State of Belarus and Russia in Moscow today. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy won new pledges of military and economic cooperation yesterday on a state visit to Poland. Polish President Andrzej Duda said Warsaw has provided four Soviet-designed MiG-29 fighter jets to Ukraine, with four more in the process of being handed over, and another six being prepared. 乌克兰总统弗拉基米尔·泽连斯基在4月5日对波兰的国事访问中赢得了军事和经济合作的新承诺。波兰总统安杰伊·杜达表示，华沙已经向乌克兰提供了四架苏联设计的米格-29战斗机，还有四架正在移交，另外六架正在准备中。
