Tormentors – I Refuse to Worry

1. Breaking The Worry Habit – The Power of Meditation

Matt 6:30-34 “30 why do you worry O you of little faith? 31 “Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. 33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things just focus on today.

Worry is essentially doubting God’s ability to handle the situation

Worry like all fear is an open door to the enemy to bring the curse

Worry does nothing to change or help your situations, in fact it works against you to harm you and produce negative results

Worry is negative meditation on the words of the devil

Is 26:3 you will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed (meditating) on You, Because he trusts in You.

Meditation – to ponder, consider, think about, to roll over in your head, to mutter and to speak softly to yourself

We choose to either worry or trust God by meditating on the problems other then the promises of God

Worry gets into our hearts by hearing satan’s reports

Rom 10:17 faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

Josh 1:8 This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.

2. Never Say, “I Can’t Stop Worrying”

Matt 6:31 “Therefore do not worry saying…”

Worry uses the creative ability of God in us backwards to harm us

Internal talk becomes heart belief & heart belief becomes confession

Matt 9:21 For she said (and kept on saying) to herself, “ when I touch His garment, I shall be made well.”

1 Sam 30:16 but David encouraged himself in the Lord his God.

Matt 12:37 For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. 35 A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good things, and an evil man out of the evil treasure brings forth evil things.

Prov 18:21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit.

3. Getting Rid of Worry Once and For All

2 Cor 11:28 besides the other things, what comes upon me daily: my deep concern for all the churches.

1 Pet 5:5 casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you. 8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. 9 Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world. 10 But may the God of all grace, who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you.

Cares – Concerns, distraction, anxieties, burdens and worries

Commit – To roll, roll down, roll away, remove, it pictures the camel burdened with a heavy load and unloading it by allowing it slide off

Ps 37:5 commit your way to the Lord, Trust also in Him, And He shall bring it to pass.
