Trauma, the Roots of Shame & Narcissism with David Stone

Listen Later

After a medical in his 20s sent him on a worldwide search for healing, David trained as a Gestalt Therapist amongst many other modalities and since around 2015 has worked intensively with the healer Mas Sajady. David has integrated the extensive knowledge he’s gathered from 20 years of training alongside his own healing journey into an approach he calls “Embodied Soul Awakening.” And alongside offering private consultations has a series of interviews and booklets all available online for free. David and I hadn’t spoken for years until this interview in Spring 2019 and it was a real pleasure to reconnect – he is definitely a soul brother on the path.
We TALKED ABOUT the illness that lead to his flight from the corporate worlds, his awakening, his experiences of living in what he calls a ‘death cult’, finding Gestalt therapy and the psychotherapeutic process.
We talk about ancestral trauma, the roots of shame and its impact, we discuss narcissism in its positive and negative affects, and so much more. Please be aware that there is the use of the F word once in this audio, and my dog starts barking half way through. This is a recording of an online conversation so please bear with the audio quality – not optimum but absolutely tolerable!
