On Tuesday, we learned that the White House has known for weeks that Mike Flynn, former National Security Advisor, had discussed sanctions with Russia on December 29. While White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer characterized the Flynn, resignation stemming from an “eroding level of trust.” However, many will conclude that the trust—had it eroded—should have eroded days into the Trump administration. As the New York Times is reporting: “Just days into his new position as President Trump’s national security adviser, Michael T. Flynn found himself in a meeting that any White House official would dread. Face to face with F.B.I. agents, he was grilled about a phone call he had had with Russia’s ambassador.” The questions we explored on yesterday’s show—What did Trump know and when did he know it?— remain unknown today. While many on the left line up behind the admittedly attractive and seductive narrative that Trump has colluded with our decades old bogey man, David Swanson, who joins me for the interview today, will have you hitting the pause button. David Swanson is an author, activist, journalist, and radio host. He is director of WorldBeyondWar.org and campaign coordinator for RootsAction.org. Swanson's books include War Is A Lie and When the World Outlawed War. He blogs at DavidSwanson.org and WarIsACrime.org. He hosts Talk Nation Radio. He is a 2015, 2016, 2017 Nobel Peace Prize Nominee.
