The United States coronavirus death toll is at 121,000 as cases rise in 25 states, half of the United States see an alarming rise in new infections. The Texas governor says that the coronavirus is "spreading at an unacceptable rate" in state. New cases surge in Dallas County. 

Funeral held for Rayshard Brooks, who was shot by Atlanta police. GOP Senator Braun tries to break deadlock on police reform, Wolf Blitzer speaks to the senator about compromise. Braun's bill limits qualified immunity for cops. 

Trump said "I don't kid" on slowing tests, after White House officials said he's kidding. 

The EU is considering blocking Americans from entering even after it reopens as United States cases surge. Fauci and CDC director contradict Trump by saying the United States needs more testing, not less. Trump says if the United States did fewer coronavirus tests, "we'd have far fewer cases." Fauci says that we're seeing a "disturbing surge" in infections in parts of the nation, but is "cautiously optimistic" that a vaccine could be ready by 2021. Fauci also says that the next two weeks will be "crucial" as the number of cases surge. CDC chief says that the coronavirus has "brought this nation to its knees."
