In this week's sermon, guest preacher Rev. A. Kazimir Brown explores the theme of searching for God, emphasizing the importance of community, prayer, and the continuous nature of this search. Drawing from scripture, personal anecdotes, and historical figures, she invites listeners to reflect on their own journeys of faith and the various ways they can seek the divine presence in their lives. The message is one of hope, resilience, and the assurance that God is always present, even in times of struggle.
This week's scripture - Jeremiah 29:11-14; Matthew 7:7-8
11 For surely I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord, plans for your welfare and not for harm, to give you a future with hope. 12 Then when you call upon me and come and pray to me, I will hear you. 13 When you search for me, you will find me; if you seek me with all your heart, 14 I will let you find me, says the Lord, and I will restore your fortunes and gather you from all the nations and all the places where I have driven you, says the Lord, and I will bring you back to the place from which I sent you into exile.
7 “Ask, and it will be given to you; search, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened for you. 8 For everyone who asks receives, and everyone who searches finds, and for everyone who knocks, the door will be opened.
