Do you know how to start using the genders to describe stuff in beginners Spanish?
In this episode, Val and Em will teach you:
✅ The 4 ‘thes’ of Spanish - El, La, Los and Las. The secret is, male nouns (people, places or things) generally end in o (e.g. el libro / the book) or los libros / the books), and feminine nouns generally end in a or -cion (e.g. la casa / the house or las canciones / the songs)
✅ Nouns - persons, places or things, can change to masculine or feminine, like profesor (male teacher) or profesora (female teacher)
✅ Adjectives - describing words, like colours or attributes like tall or small. In spanish, they can change based on gender, like las casas amarillas (the yellow houses) or los libros amarillos (the yellow books). The secret is, if it ends in ‘e’ you dont generally have to change the gender. Like la chica inteligente (the smart girl)
