Thank God that the church is not helpless, but can reach out to people with power in showing the wonderful love of God.  God does this through those chosen by Him by operating spiritual gifts through them.

The imagery of a potter and his intensely personal involvement with the clay strongly moves us in our efforts to serve the people of God.  As with the clay,

-God's people must be MINED, as they are valuable resources to Him.
-God's people must be MOLDED into vessels He can use for His glory.
-God's people must be MENDED from wounding and brokeness.
-God's people must be MAXIMIZED to become all that they can be in the Lord.
-God's people must be MULTIPLIED in number to reach others.
