Chris Jones was primarily a bench player and backup outfielder in the middle of a journeyman career when he joined the New York Mets in 1995.

Jones quickly developed a knack for dramatic moments in New York, delivering two walk off home runs during the 1995 season, and two more the following season. His four walk-off home runs tying a record for the most in franchise history.
