Ryan Sistad is the Executive Director of Better In Our Back Yard. In this episode, Ryan and Bill Powers discuss how U.S. politicians and bureaucrats are undermining their own stated goals regarding domestic critical metals production and EV adoption by opposing and hindering quality American mining projects. Ryan shares about his advocacy work trying to move forward mining and tunnel projects in Minnesota, Wisconsin and Michigan.

Better In Our Back Yard was created to provide organic, citizen-led forum content, educational resources and advocacy to support responsible industrial development projects and companies in Northern Minnesota and regions surrounding the Upper Midwest. Better In Our Back Yard’s mission is to strengthen the region’s economy by advocating for responsible industrial development.
