About Speaker: Dr. Sonia Tiwari , is a Learning Experience Designer interested in creating children's educational products based on qualitative research. She has a PhD in Learning, Design, and Technology from Penn State University and currently works in San Francisco as an Adjunct Professor at California College of the Arts teaching UX Research. She also consults with education companies on how to design research-informed products for children including toys, games, DIY kits, AR/VR experiences, and other emerging formats. Her current research explores the future of virtual influencers in children's educational media.
Topic Brief: We will learn to modify popular UX research methods such as usability interviews, semi-structured IDIs, surveys, diary studies, playtesting, and desirability studies with children. Bonus, we will learn about the ethics of conducting research with children, Learning Experience Design for children, and mapping children’s environments to deliver in-situ UX.
