Please don't judge me... but there was a period of time in my life in which I was a very committed "Sims" player. If you haven't played one of these games, the mix of exhilaration and frustration that ensues can be highly addictive. The lack of complete control over these virtual avatars is one of the main sources of the chaos at the heart of the series... because with free will comes a host of other problems.
Join us for a reflection on the challenges of "free will" in both the gaming environment as well as the ramifications of this in our real world, and the reality that the Lord is developing our lives along a road that may seem unnecessarily challenging at times... sometimes because of our choices, and other times because of the decisions of others. But is His gift of free will that allows us to receive the comfort of His rod and staff that sometimes is only understood when we are walking through the valley of the shadow of death.
