Publisher's Summary:
In a hotel, on the northeast side of Key West, Florida, Erin Hardinger is beginning spring break without her medications. For the first time in more than a decade, she is seeing the world without the pharmaceutical filter that her mother placed on her as a child. Beneath the surface of the mundane and absurd fixtures of Key West's tourist trade, a world of the living and the dead confronts Erin at every turn. The torn edges of perception and reality soon spill over into the lives of her companions and strangers; a crooked doctor on the run from the mob, the panic stricken wife of a retired optometrist, and a group of college students all find the edges of their reality blurred. Is it Erin's awakening that is causing this, or is it the hotel, or is it Key West itself?

Walking Back from Key West
This book isn't at all what I thought it would be when I started reading it. What begins as spring break for several college students, eventually becomes something more bizarre as the story progresses. It goes from the normal drinking and partying to supernatural horror. The wonderful cover should give you an inkling into the weirdness of the story. It has a depth of insight into philosophical topics, life/death, and so much more, with interesting history about Key West. Truly a great read, and a book that will stick with you for a long time. My word of advice is "Don't give up. Read through to the end."
The right mix
Pasqualâs story is a lot of things. It is funny at parts, and heartbreaking during a lot of it. For Tim a marketing major, it was knowing that the playing field, was both a curse and a victory. The story is a whirlwind of activity from start to finish. The author also seems to have climbed inside a femaleâs head, as his portrayal of womenâs feeling is 100% spot on! I donât want to spoil the fun of the story by rehashing it on this review. But, you will enjoy Timâs and Erinâs story. Not only did I enjoy the read, but leaned something new.
It wasn't predictable and kept me wondering how it would come together.
Highly recommend.
and I thoroughly enjoyed following them on their journey
Tim and Erin are two of the most relateable, engaging characters I've encountered recently (even though, on the surface, I have little in common with them), and I thoroughly enjoyed following them on their journey. This novel was a good one and I plan to look for more books from this Mr. Pasqual.
A thrilling yet captivating story
I really enjoyed the way the author painted the intro. The characters are interesting and if you like scifi don't skip out from this title. A good read for fiction lovers.
Confusing book
Odd happenings, never all tied together. Found it rather confusing. The history of the Keys, hurricane was worth the read
