Walking the Birth Worker Path as a New Mother with Mia
In today's episode we talk about the myth that mothers must wait until life is “perfect” before stepping into birth work, and Mia offers heartfelt wisdom for pregnant women and new mothers who feel the call rising inside them but are unsure if now is the right time.
Her story is a beautiful reminder that the calling arrives when it arrives, and sometimes the seasons of pregnancy and postpartum are exactly when our path awakens most clearly.
In this episode of the Birth Worker Interview Series, I sit down with Mia to explore her journey into birth work, from completing her first doula training before becoming pregnant, to applying for the Sacred Birth Worker Mentorship during her first pregnancy, and then beginning the mentorship in her postpartum with her first baby.
She speaks openly about what it was like to deepen into sacred space holding and studying while adjusting to motherhood, and how learning in this season felt deeply aligned rather than overwhelming.
Mia also shares about becoming pregnant with her second baby during the mentorship, and how walking through postpartum, her second pregnancy, and this training all at once shaped her as both a woman, mother and a birth worker.
Together we explore her inner transformations, her blossoming in birth work, her connection to intuition, and the ways the mentorship supported her emotionally, spiritually, and personally.
She also reflects on how motherhood has shifted her understanding of the work and strengthened her devotion to supporting other women through this rite of passage.
