Simi Valley, USA – Firefighters from Los Angeles Fire Department Engine 85 working on the Sandy Fire located in Simi Valley assisted the Byle family after their home was destroyed by the blaze.

Crews carefully searched through the burned remains of the house. During the search, firefighters recovered a wedding ring along with other valuable personal items belonging to the family.

The Byle family later expressed strong gratitude to the firefighters from across California who responded to the incident and assisted during the aftermath of the fire.

Multiple agencies joined the response as the Sandy Fire rapidly spread across Simi Valley on Monday. These included CAL FIRE, Los Angeles Fire Department, Los Angeles County Fire, Santa Barbara County Fire, and additional partner agencies from across Southern California.

The coordinated response was part of California’s mutual aid system, which allows multiple agencies to support one another during major disasters and large scale emergencies.

Authorities highlighted the cooperation between departments as a key part of the firefighting effort and recovery work in the area.
