In today’s episode, Linnea and Pastor Chad respond to the question “What are the Core Principles for a Biblical Approach to Money and Giving?” This is the final of three episodes focused on this topic.
These principles are pulled from the book by John Cortines and Gregory Baumer, God and Money: How We Discovered True Riches at Harvard Business School, (Carson, CA: Rose Publishing, 2016).
1. Everything we “own” actually belongs to God. Everything.
2. “Our” wealth and possessions should be used for God’s purposes.
3. Wealth is like Dynamite, with great potential for both good and harm.
4. Giving generously to the poor is a moral duty in a fallen world.
5. Giving should be voluntary, generous (even sacrificial), cheerful, and needs-based.
6. Giving generously breaks the power of money over us.
Books Mentioned in This Episode
The Law of Rewards by Randy Alcorn
