11.22.2022 - By Krista Williams & Lindsey Simcik
Are you building healthy boundaries, or putting up restricting walls? With the former taking center stage amongst the collective, it’s an important question to ask.
This episode was inspired by the journey Krista’s been on to have deep and real intimacy in her relationships – a growing desire to untangle defensive mechanisms that create negative static between people and move toward a more heart-centered exchange with the people in and around her life.
The truth is that some forms of boundary building have evolved into a method for gaslighting ourselves, a means to create a cozy victimhood to hide away in, an excuse for closing ourselves off from things, situations, or people that may expand us.
We also talk about:
A different angle of boundary building
What boundaries are meant to be
Honesty and open heartedness
Building walls makes a victim
How to receive a boundary
The need for control
Wall building instance from Krista’s life
Good friction between two people
Bad examples from The Hills
Leaning into love and connectedness
