Queers for the Queendom

What does God look like to you?

Listen Later

This is not a rhetorical question - answer it! Today we discuss the importance of assessing how we view God and accepting that we'll likely have to get out of our comfort zone to truly explore the vastness of the living God.

We cover:

My own real life example of shifting how I view God

Different versions of God, the validity of each and how it will change throughout your life

Why the question of how we view God matters: "The size of your God is ultimately the size of your life."

How God will prompt you to view Them differently, and in order to do this you’ll need to be willing to break all boundaries you have on God (will include stepping out of your comfort zone)

Relationships are complex so your relationship with God will be too - completely okay if your relationship looks different than your pastors

Like to get saved? Recite the prayer below or with me at the end of the podcast!

“Dear Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner, and I ask for Your forgiveness. I believe You died for my sins and rose from the dead. I turn from my sins and invite You to come into my heart and life. I want to trust and follow You as my Lord and Savior. In Jesus name I pray and believe, amen.”

Congratulations! You just made the best decision of your life! I am more than happy for you! Remember the prayer above is there for guidance if you don’t know what to say. The best prayer you can pray is the most honest prayer you can pray. You can pray wherever however, eyes open or closed - just be open. Tell God anything! He/She/They is excited to hear from you! She loves you dearly, you are His beloved. They have a plan for your life and are happy to hear from you!

Here are a few steps to follow from this point:

  1. Tell someone! Community is vital!
  2. Pray! As often as you’d like, daily would be best. Doesn’t matter how long just pour out your heart to God. Listen to the Spirit speak back to you.
  3. Buy a Bible or get the app. There are plenty of Bible plans out there - find one that interests you.
  4. Find a church near you or online. (Ask God to show you one that would work best for you!)
  5. Grow your relationship with God! This comes through drawing close to God and allowing He/She/They to guide you. If you’re having a hard time SAY THAT! God already knows what you’re thinking - She loves you and wants to help you!
  6. "What this means is that those who become Christians become new persons. They are not the same anymore, for the old life is gone. A new life has begun!" (2 Corinthians 5:17).

Thank you for listening! God bless!
