Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Mark Milley made their first public remarks on Wednesday since the complete withdrawal of U.S. military assets from Afghanistan. While the military mission is over and we transition to a diplomatic mission, how over is “over,” especially with the commitment made to go after ISIS-K terrorists responsible for killing 13- U.S. service members in Afghanistan?  FOX News National Security Correspondent Jennifer Griffin joins to discuss the the future of Afghanistan, the possibility of the US military of working with Taliban to target ISIS and if there is a chance we would send troops back to the region.

 

Louisiana continues its recovery efforts this week in the wake of Hurricane Ida. The storm damaged major infrastructure, wrecking power lines, flooding homes and businesses. President Biden has announced plans to visit New Orleans on Friday, September 3rd to survey the damage from the storm and meet with state and local leaders to further understand the issues for the communities devastated by Hurricane Ida. Fox Weather Correspondent Steve Bender joins to explain the main issues facing Louisiana cities, especially how New Orleans is handling the need for food and shelter amid power outages. He also talks about the rescue and relief effort in the area and the resiliency of the Louisiana community helping each other. Later, the head of petroleum analysis at Gas Buddy, Patrick De Haan joins to explain how the storm has disrupted access to electricity and crippled access to gas throughout the state.
