Ephesians 1:1-2 Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God, to God’s holy people in Ephesus, the faithful in Christ Jesus...Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
We are continuing in our mini-series, Equipping the Saints, by looking at the role and gift of the Apostle!
As we mentioned last week, God gave a blueprint for how the Church is called to work and operate. And we've accidentally created a false paradigm by saying that the Church is only to be operated by the Pastor. God has given all of His heavenly resources to His people, and one of the resources that we haven't fully tapped into in our Western church concept are the other gifts that God has given to His ekklesia.
This week, we'll be spending time looking at the role of the Apostle in the church. The apostle is a unique position that sees the global Church functioning in its local context. The apostle usually asks, "What can I do for the city that God has me in, and how can the Church bless the city around it?"
We'll spend some time looking at the gift of the Apostle and the giftings of apostleship and see how the Church is equipped to do all that its called to do!
