Listen Later

Matthew 28:19-20 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. We are continuing in our series, Equipping the Saints, by looking at the role of the Evangelist!

The Evangelist is someone who is called and gifted by God to proclaim the message of the gospel—salvation through Jesus Christ—to others. Their mission involves preaching repentance, the forgiveness of sins, and the promise of eternal life, often focusing on reaching those who have not yet accepted Christ. Evangelists are mentioned specifically in Ephesians 4:11 as one of the key roles given by Christ to equip the church for ministry. A biblical evangelist is marked by boldness, compassion, and a deep commitment to the truth of Scripture. Their message is centered on Christ’s death and resurrection, and their goal is to lead people into a personal relationship with Him. Ultimately, evangelists serve as vital instruments in the expansion of the Kingdom of God, urging people to respond to God’s call with faith and obedience.
