Who Are You?

If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. - 2 Corinthians 5:17 I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. - Galatians 2:20 …. for you are a chosen people. You are royal priests, a holy nation, God’s very own possession. As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, for he called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light. 10 “Once you had no identity as a people; now you are God’s people. Once you received no mercy; now you have received God’s mercy. -1 Peter 2:9-10 Who are you? That is the question of today’s show. Now some of you might be thinking, well…I’m a banker, plumber, realtor. No….that’s what you do for a living. The question is…. startling really. Who are you? Some of you may start thinking about things that your parents or other kids as you were growing up called you…ya know…things that aren’t so nice. And those things unfortunately seem to play over and over in our heads when we become adults and believe it or not…they affect our relationships. But see, that’s not who you are either. We just kind of latch on to those names - those associations - those failures in our life. It seems to me that we have a case of mistaken identity in the Church.
