Melissa Doyle is one of those women who believes in a mutual exchange of energy which means she is my type of woman. She wrote a book with Naima Brown about ‘How to age against the machine’ with the aim to empower women to age on their own terms.
Through the journey of writing the book she discovered that as women got older, they felt invisible. Some women took it as a negative, and some took it as a positive. For a lot of women, their identity was wrapped up in motherhood, and they found themselves at a crossroad asking who am I? What do I do now? What do I do next? What do I do to occupy myself?
We discuss how to transform women’s thinking so they view themselves as "a project’ to empower them to sit down and go, okay, who am I?
Female empowerment is a favourite topic of mine -and we deep dive into a powerful conversation to learn:
1) What has shifted for Mel as she leaned into the next decade of life
2) What women truly want to know when they hit their 40s and 50s to combat the aging process?
3) The power of community and people’s stories to empower you to make changes now for your future wellbeing
4) Why so many women face homeless in their 50sand how to ask for help
5) How can we surround ourselves with people who truly care about our welfare? (Conditional versus unconditional love + succession planning)
6) Mel's next powerful step
