2018 is the year Nelson Mandela would have turned 100. Jamie experiences prejudice from his dental hygienist when she learns he has HIV. Traumatized after learning of her HIV status, Shakirah comes to recognize the support system that had grown around her.

And a word of caution: Shakirah’s story involves mention of physical abuse.
