Welcome to our first interview with a Karen Community Elder. Pastor Saw Htoo describes his journey in Burma, in a refugee camp and then moving to Albany, New York. He also describes for us the process of organizing refugees in the Albany Area. Pastor Saw Htoo first invited the Writing Partnership to work with his community approximately ten years ago. We are thrilled to have him as a guest.
My thanks also go to Hser Moo Aye who conducted the interview and translated the interview from Sgaw Karen to English.
