Description:

Imagine growing up across the pond. Growing up not realizing that you wanted to be a doctor. Growing up and getting to high school on the wrong path to becoming a physician. Well today’s guest is somewhat of a global sapien. A humanities educated, 2 time Emmy award medical producing expert. Dr. Tom Flaherty is the current chief medical officer at Biodigital, but most recently is known for his work on the Dr. Oz show as one of their Medical Producers. Dr. Flaherty grew up in Hong Kong, Tokyo, England, Guatemala, Mexico, and Columbia. He attended university at Brown University and then Medical School at the Icahn School of Medicine in NYC. In this episode, we dive deep discussing his path to medicine, how he became a medical producer on the Dr. Oz show, how he overcame obstacles in medical school like failing classes, and his view on the value of a medical degree. Also, while not currently practicing medicine, Dr. Flaherty is currently training to be a professional triathlete.
