Your Guide to Soldier (1998) | The Lost Blade Runner "Side-quel"

Listen Later

Shortly after the release of Ridley Scott's Blade Runner, screenplay writer David Webb Peoples spun off his initial opening for the film into an entire script. The lost Blade Runner "side-quel" (taking place meanwhile in the Blade Runner world) sat dormant for 15 years. In 1998, director Paul W.S. Anderson brought the film to life with the star power of Kurt Russell. Where does this film exactly belong between Scott and Villeneuve's world and why has it been forgotten all these years? Before our full review next Monday, join Allen as he guides you through the production, behind-the-scenes drama, box-office, and impact of Soldier.
