[דובר לעיל שאאמו"ר ז"ל נשלח לגלות ונשאר שם עד יומו האחרון. ההוראה מזה גם לבנ"י הנמצאים בארצות הרווחה:] המשנה אומרת "הוי גולה למקום תורה": דאע"פ שנולד ונתחנך בבית של יראים ושלמים, ונמצא בעיר ש"כולה סופרים", צ"ל "לך לך מארצך [מהרצונות שלך] וממולדתך [הרגילויות שלך] ומבית אביך [הרב שלימדו תורה] כדי להגיע ללימוד התורה כדבעי – "והי' ברכה". זאת אומרת, דאע"פ שצ"ל רצונות והם טובים בטבעם, אבל כל זמן שמתנהג כפי רצונותיו הטבעיים ואינו מעבד אותם (מלשון "עיבוד עורות"), נק' "לא עבדו"! ודוקא ע"י עיבוד רצונותיו ושינוי את טבעו העצמי, לך לך מארצך וגו', והולך ל"גלות", נעשה עי"ז עבד ה' – "והי' ברכה". ובכל יום ויום יש להמשיך ולהעלות בקודש, ולהוסיף על הלימוד התורה ועל ההידור בקיום המצוות דאתמול.

Synopsis
The lesson from my father’s exile – for those who find themselves in a place of prosperity: The Mishna states, “Exile yourself to a place of Torah.” Even if you were raised by G-d fearing parents, and you find yourself in a “city full of sages and scholars,” nevertheless, to truly study Torah properly and “be a blessing,” you must “Go forth from your land (your personal desires) and from your birthplace (your habits) and from your father’s house (your teacher who taught you Torah).” That is, one must have desires, and they must be positive desires. But as long as one acts according to his natural desires and doesn’t work on them, he is called “one who does not serve Him.” Only by working on one’s desires and changing his nature – by “going forth from your land…” and by “exiling yourself” – does one become a servant of Hashem. And every single day one must continue to ascend in holiness, increasing in Torah study and increasing the quality and quantity of his mitzvah observance, above and beyond his accomplishments of the day before.
