Thea Joshi is joined by Frederico Cardoso, the Centre's Senior Economist, to hear about a major new report calculating the economic and social costs of mental ill health. While a £ sign is an imperfect measure of the toll that mental health problems can take on people's lives, this economic analysis has broken new ground in assessing the scale of the problem and the consequences for our economy and society of failing to act. Frederico breaks down and contextualises the figures in the new report and shares some of the solutions that would support better mental health and reduce costs in tandem.

Thea Joshi is joined by Claudia Turbet-Delof, a local councillor in Hackney, Mental Health Champion, person centred therapist and human rights campaigner. Claudia shares her experience of growing up in poverty in Bolivia, moving to the UK and facing depression and racism. She tells us how these experiences, and witnessing the power of collective struggle by indigenous people in her country, have driven her ambition to make mental health a fundamental human right. سلام به قسمت پنجم از #پادکست_هزار_قاب خوش اومدین. شاید عجیب به نظر بیاد ولی هنر، فضای بسیار رقابتی و سرسختیه. این سرسختی برای همه وجود داره، ولی وقتی یک زن باشی، مسلما سخت تر هم خواهد بود. حالا تصور کنید، زنی هستید در قرن هفدهم میلادی، در فضایی که حتی حق ندارید هنرمند باشید، چون زن هستید. در قرن هفدهم اما این طلسم شکست و بالاخره بارقه های امید روشن شد. توی این اپیزود، رفتیم به سراغ جودیت لیستر، زنی که برای اولین بار تونست جامعه هلند رو متقاعد کنه که بیش از یک زنه. یک نقاشه و نقاش چیره دستی هم هست. سلف پرتره اون، حرف های زیادی برای گفتن داره که توی این اپیزود می خوایم اون حرف ها بشنویم.

سلام به قسمت چهارم از #پادکست_هزار_قاب خوش اومدین. مرگ مارا، امروز برای ما یک تابلوی نقاشی نئوکلاسیکی به حساب میاد، ولی در روزگار خودش، بیشتر یک بیانیه سیاسی بود به نفع یک حزب خاص. به طور کلی، ژاک لویی داوید، نقاش این اثر رو حتی میشه نقاش دروغگو نامید؛ اما مگر یکی از کارکردهای هنر، دروغ گفتن نیست؟ این اپیزود، بهانه خوبی بود برای گفتن درباره یکی از کارکردهای مهم هنر: هنر به عنوان ابزاری برای روابط عمومی

گزارش یک قتل

El libro que menciono se llama "Camino a la equidad" La mujer como factor primordial de la sociedad mexicana, como lo mencionó es del 2000, hace 20 años esta información, pero me pareció importante e interesante, por ese motivo decidí empezar con éste tema, pronto actualizaré toda la información y como se a ido desarrollando este tipo de temas tan importantes en éste siglo. Janis a apprit la mécanique vélo en travaillant 6 ans au Chat Perché, un atelier d’auto-réparation bien connu à Lyon. Je n’ai pas vu son atelier mais l’intérieur de sa tente, planté au camping municipal pendant la durée de son stage chez Pierre Taillefer.
Le soir les grenouilles croassent et Janis lit des bouquins à la lueur de sa frontale. Elle n’a pas froid aux yeux ni aux guiboles; le Loire-et-Cher, en mai, ça pelle.
Un temps coursière à vélo, puis investit dans un atelier participatif au sein duquel elle bricole et transforme des bicyclettes et autre remorques, elle passe aussi un CQP en “soudure industriel” Dernièrement elle à suivit la formation de cadreuse organisé par l’Afpa.
Je vois Janis, comme un savant mélange à la fois doux et relevé, typhon placide qui s’agite mais avec calme et toujours dans le bon sens.
Dernière épisode de cette série consacré aux cadreurs cadreuses, et petite passerelle entre l’univers des artisans et le monde un peu plus do it yourself des ateliers vélo.

Episode spécial #6 : Taillefer et Janis part 2/2

Ancien circassien, à la silhouette mince et dynamique, Pierre Glottin s’adonne depuis 2016 à la fabrication de vélos dans son atelier du petit village de Mondoubleau. Féru de cargos, de randonneuses légères, de long tail et autre petit traineaux, Pierre a apprit à fabriquer des vélos en effectuant ce qu’il appelle un compagnonnage. Après avoir visité quelques ateliers d’artisans déjà installés il peaufine son art en fabriquant des bicyclettes jolies, costauds et surtout très pratique. Ex-abonné à l’explosion d’endorphine par la pratique de l’ultra-distance il roule aujourd’hui un peu plus tranquille et il a définitivement troqué sa voiture contre le vélo-cargo, fil rouge de notre épisode.
Pierre, il laisse trainer ses p’tites clopes roulées un peu partout; mais le soir l’atelier est propre et bien rangé.
En mai j’y suis passée alors qu’il accueillait en stage Janis: punkette à chat, fabriqueuse de bicyclette utilitaire et autre remorque soudées à l’arrière d’un atelier participatif lyonnais.
L’enregistreur s’est un peu emballé, alors je coupe l’épisode en deux pour leur laisser la place de s’exprimer.

Episode spécial #6 : Taillefer et Janis part 1/2

Deux semaines avant Noël j’ai passé quelques jours chez un ingénieur-poète, qui fabrique des vélos moitié pièce d’orfèvrerie moitié gros joujou à étrenner dans le gravier.
Après une montée de 20mn sous la neige j’arrive en haut d’une colline, à 5 km au dessus de Chambéry. Ici on est Tire Poil, habitat partagé effervescent et inspiré, à la fois lieu d’habitation, de travail, d’envie, de rêve et de rigolade. C’est ici que Jolie Rouge a prit ses quartiers.
Équiper d’une bouillote-sac-à-dos, invention ingénieuse pour résister à l’ambiance glacé bien connu des ateliers de constructeur de vélo; je déambule entre les machines rutilantes et les biclous démontés. Les dessins, photos-souvenirs et adages bucoliques ornent les murs de ce petit atelier-curiosité aux lourdes portes en bois, vestige probable d’un ancienne bâtisse agricole.
C’est plein de charme, et rempli de l’âme de Julien que j’étiquette comme le Matthew Crawford de la bicyclette: un ancien ingénieur dans l’industrie du composite qui plaque tout pour fabriquer des vélos et se questionne sur le travail manuel, l’utilisation des machines et cherche le juste milieu entre artisanat et industrie…

Episode spécial #5 : Jolie Rouge

Mon été 2022 a été gravé sous le signe du cycle. Des rencontres cyclo-féministes à la bike war, de ciné cyclo en festivals qui partent à la dérive j’ai aussi fait un saut aux Concours de Machines qui avait lieu cette année à Roubaix où j’ai retrouvé François Coponet des Cycles Itinérance. Il est bien connu pour être l’ancien cadreur de Rando Cycles, boutique émérite situé dans le 12eme arrondissement de Paris.
À la fin du Concours donc, je grimpe dans le camping car de François et Trudie. Nos 3 bicyclettes accrochées au porte vélo, direction Mousson à 400 km un peu plus à l’est.
Pas loin d’être bordé le soir après avoir été nourri à la teurgoule (une spécialité normande qui ressemble vaguement à du riz au lait), je n’ai pas de doute qu’ ils ont pas mal pratiqué l’accueil des cyclo-touristes de passage…
Le matin en sirotant son bol de chocolat chaud François m’explique qu’il aime les épreuves, les concours et son émulation mais pas vraiment la compétition, ok pour la nouveauté et les changement mais pas la course à l’armement.
Source intarissable d’anecdote, d’histoire et d’enseignement; j’ai passé 3 jours dans son atelier à l’observer braser. C’est partit pour un cours d’histoire du vélo et l’éloge des haubans à plaquette rétro. Clairement François il a loupé une vocation: s’il est bon cadreur il est aussi excellent professeur. Affairé à me montrer des moyeux maxi-car et me donner des conseils avisée pour débloquer les tiges de selle coincé dans le cadre; franchement j’ai eu du mal à m’en aller!
Dans la première partie François évoque son adolescence et ses voyages; ses premières réalisations et la suite de son parcours professionnel.
Dans cette 2eme partie ça parle un peu plus technique mais toujours avec autant de passion et de bagou.
