A Russian submarine’s ‘unusual’ behavior has NATO’s attention. A top official says it’s ‘limping home.’

A Russian submarine traveling home from the Mediterranean has spent much of its journey surfaced.

A NATO official said the activity is unusual. It’s not ideal for a submarine to travel this way.

The alliance chief said the vessel appears to be “broken” and “limping home” from a patrol.

NATO forces have been tracking the Russian Kilo-class submarine, identified as the Novorossiysk, as it travels back to its home port from a patrol in the Mediterranean Sea. The alliance official, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss the developments, said it isn’t optimal for a vessel to sail on the surface.

Despite the USNA’s honor code, the congresswoman said she was barred because she would not “rat out” classmates involved in the scandal.

Now, Sherrill claims she DID come forward to speak with investigators.

Speaking with reporters last week following a debate with Ciattarelli, Sherrill said, “There were hundreds of people in my class that spoke to investigators. When I did, I told them what I knew.”

But some of Sherrill’s former classmates aren’t buying it.

The Trump administration has dismissed 4,108 employees since Oct. 1, the day the U.S. government shutdown began, according to a statement filed Tuesday in court by the U.S. Department of Justice.

The Justice Department last week in a separate court filing estimated the figure was at least 4,278.

The cuts amount to a fraction of the U.S. government’s workforce. U.S. agencies employed some 2 million civilians at the start of the Trump administration.
