Introduction to the podcast series 'From a distance'.
Welcome to "From a Distance," the podcast that offers a different perspective on the news. In this episode, I'll give an introduction to what you can expect from this podcast series. As the name "From a Distance" suggests, I offer my perspective on the news as an outsider from a distance, aiming to highlight different viewpoints. In my view, we are increasingly forced to choose one side, while there is such a large middle ground. Take, for example, the rise of the right parties, or extreme right as often said in the media. But are right and left parties still categorizable nowadays? Right parties often say: 'our own people first', but I also hear them taking left-wing positions. Are those right-wing parties all of a sudden left-wing, or are the left-wing parties not left-wing but also right wing? This example already shows that choosing one side is impossible. As a coach and mediator, I always say: "differences make color." By this, I mean that different opinions and viewpoints actually stimulate diversity and growth. I couldn't imagine if we all thought and acted the same way.My vision and opinion are my own. But I also want to grow, which is why I'm incredibly curious about your views on the topics I've covered in my podcast. These topics will range from current events in specific countries to global developments that affect us all.Think of topics like politics, technology, culture, environment, and more. I will use my background in law enforcement, national security, information technology, coaching, and mediation to shed light on these topics from a unique perspective. If you have a topic you'd like to hear my opinion on, you are welcome to share it with me.Larger international issues, such as the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, I will break down into different episodes. This way, I can refer to an episode number in future podcasts, so I don't have to repeat the same thing over and over. That's why it's important to subscribe to this podcast on your favorite podcast app so you can get all the topics and understand the coherence in the bigger picture. I'll do my best to keep difficult topics as simple as possible so my podcasts will be available to all listeners.Initially, I'll publish through my podcast channel, but you can also follow it on YouTube and Instagram, just search for @WorldFromADistance, all together as one.Hosted on Acast.
