For the 5th year in a row, a team of cyclists connected to the Cure CMD community will participate in the Million Dollar Bike Ride (MDBR) on May 20th, raising money for rare disease research through the Penn Medicine Orphan Disease Center. In this episode, we chat with one of the MDBR Cure CMD team captains, Susan Lee-Miller. As an active participant in the CMD community for 20 years, Susan has learned having contacts within the community is essential for her own well-being. She discusses the importance connection within the community has been for her 20 year son, who is affected by Collagen VI CMD, and goes into detail on how her family and others have been able to have an impact on research for Collagen VI CMD, via the MDBR.
