002 - I Shared My Why with My Why and the Importance of Importance

I was excited to record this episode and share how things are going.  Remember that you can reach me at [email protected].  Here’s some of what's discussed in this episode:

  • Your why is the fuel to reach your destination - your end goal.  My why is my wife and kids - I don’t want to let them down by dying and knowing that my death might have been prevented by taking better care of myself.  Today I shared that with my wife (who is my why) and I discuss what happened.
  • Something needs to be important - truly important - if you’re going to do it.  I discuss the importance of importance.
  • Why I chose to quantify my fitness goals with completing a ½ Ironman Triathlon as opposed to using a goal weight.
  • Getting my body composition and resting metabolic rate tested to determine a current baseline - a good starting point that I can measure my progress against.
  • My decision to start living a Keto lifestyle.
  • A commitment to exercising 30 minutes a day, 6 days per week, for the rest of my life and my new 30X6NoExcuses fitness club.
  • I don’t need easy, I just need worth it.  Reaching your goals isn't always easy - but who needs easy when it's worth it.
