When I was younger I told myself I wasn't creative.

I didn't know what made me special.

In fact, I had a sense that if people knew everything going inside me--all the fears, all the feelings, and all the thoughts--that they would see that I am not good enough.

I had bad experiences as a kid being different and I grew up afraid to be seen for anything besides getting straight As.

Creativity was hard because it seemed easy to get wrong, whereas school had clear answers I could memorize and get right.

Sound familiar? 

I grew up to be a woman who plays original songs at open mics, publishes multiple books, and even painted the book cover for Freedom Year. 

Creativity is so a part of my life that I consider my LIFE to be a work of art.
