Welcome to another episode of The Nature Of Authors!
What started as an Instagram Live series, has now turned into a podcast. The first seven episodes are from that series, so if you missed it on Instagram, no worries. Here you go!
In this second episode, Chrissy interviews Shannon Jump, author of Even Though It's Breaking. Chrissy starts with Would You Rather questions related to books and nature, and then she launches into Shannon's psychological thriller novel, Even Though It's Breaking.
Shannon's second novel, this story is about Allie Mason, who has a nearly perfect life until one night, she's stripped of it all. Allie is attacked in her home, badly beaten and raped—with no memory of the traumatizing events that took place that night. As Allie works to uncover the truth, she's left with more questions than answers—and forced to make an unimaginable decision.
Throughout the episode, Shannon and Chrissy discuss writing dual narratives, domestic abuse survivors, writing for therapy, connecting with the Bookstagram community, and sharing books and authors that have been an inspiration.
Be sure to buy Even Though It's Breaking or one of Shannon's other books, My Only Sunshine and Wouldn't You Love to Love Her (which came out after this recording).
