I’d like to explore what the Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) model looks like when applied to group travel. In a CSA, a community pays up front for a share of a local farmer’s harvest that is distributed to them over the course of a season. Community support of the farm helps manage the variables and share the risks of farming so the farmer doesn’t bear it all.
The cost of producing group trips is high and that leads to high prices for travelers. The risks associated with curating and hosting group trips include the 10-50% deposit I put down to secure vendors and suppliers for the dates of a trip much farther in advance than my ideal travelers are usually ready to book. International transactions often incur fees and suppliers steal. It takes many months to coordinate logistics and operations of the trip on the ground is 16+ hour days for 7-10 days straight.
I’m clear I’d like to spend my days researching, curating group trips, and storytelling. The purpose remains cultivating an international network of cultural workers in reciprocal relationship with one another. From cultural workers meeting and committing to the embodied practice of cooperative futures, I trust only greatness can follow.
To hold some of the risk of these group trips with me, you’re invited to buy into this society of travelers (and future commune?!) as a Founding Member annually, helping us guarantee at least 3 group trips a year and increasing the value of our visual and audio productions. You can cancel at anytime.
I’m running a celebratory launch promotion where you can join as a Founding Member for 20% off forever.
