The 90’s were a great time to be a kid, and especially one who played video games! We got the tail end of the arcade scene and despite the Crash of 1983 we saw the rise of gaming behemoths like Nintendo, Sega, and PlayStation; we saw the jumps from 8-bit consoles like the Nintendo Entertainment System and the Sega Master System, all the way to the dawning of the 128-bit era with the Dreamcast. We saw the pinnacle of DOS gaming and the eventual transition to Windows and DirectX. We went from simple 8 bit sprites on black backgrounds to vast 3D worlds and character models, and saw the rapid rise and fall of FMV.
