Two realms of prayer: Fellowship & Participation
Prayer, although vast in scope, can be broken down into two main categories. Pastor and Apostle Paul Y Cho calls them “Fellowship Prayer” and “Task Prayer”. Fellowship prayer centres upon our relationship with God, and comprises such arenas as praise and worship, confession of personal sin, adoration, seeking God’s face, soaking and practising God’s presence. Task prayer is engagement together with God in the spiritual work of the Kingdom, whether on a personal, local, national, international or global level.
Paul touches on these areas in his letter to the Corinthians, as the Amplified Bible translates 1 Corinthians 1:9:
“God is faithful (reliable, trustworthy, and therefore ever true to His promise, and He can be depended on); by Him you were called into
companionship and participation
with His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.”
