In this episode I’m chatting with knit, crochet, and craft expert, Vickie Howell, a mother of three and a penchant for Lifestyle culture, creative parenting, and social media marketing.  Vickie is most well-known as the Host and Creative Consultant of DIY Network & HGTV’s show, Knitty Gritty.
Vickie is also the International Spokesperson & Creativity Guide for the largest, North American yarn company, Yarnspirations (home of Patons, Bernat, Caron, Lily Sugar n’ Cream), Yarn Arts Ambassador for Clover Needlearts, Inc., and knitting with viewers nationwide as the Host and Co-Executive Producer of PBS’ Knitting Daily TV with Vickie Howell.

Episode highlights:
* Vickie sees her main gig as the jazz hands of the crafting world and constantly encourages the masses to pick up their needles and hooks with confidence.
* It doesn’t matter if you’re just working in garter… or doing something more advanced. Vickie’s mission is always to take a ball of yarn and turn it into something. Vickie calls these simple and most basic approaches “gateways” that introduce beginners to knitting and craft.
* Why there so much fear behind crafting.
* How to choose something attainable, then start there.
* Why Vickie likes “quickie projects” instead of the stress that comes with an unfinished project. Vickie says this kind of accomplishment is good for the soul.
