Gemma Richards is a freelance graphic designer and the founder of Byw, an online community hub celebrating independent businesses in Cardiff. Since launching on Instagram near the start of the UK's coronavirus lockdown, Byw has helped to showcase the positive things that small businesses have been doing to support their local communities through the pandemic. 

In our conversation we chatted about using social media to build an online community, the challenges of balancing paid work with side projects and what it's like moving to a new city as a freelance creative.
