Listen Later

If you’re eyeing on a property, make sure you schedule a property visit and get the most out of it.

In this episode of The Property Entrepreneur Podcast, Gordon makes sure that you are prepared and organised when you do your first property viewing. He provides the ultimate checklist that you can use and customise according to what you’re looking for in a property. The last thing you want is to oversee some flaws and buy a shabby property that doesn’t even meet your standards.

Aside from sharing the key things to consider during property viewings, discover lifehacks from Gordon to get the fun out of exercising and save time on settling paychecks so make sure to tune in!

KEY TAKEAWAYS

  • Gordon’s Tips for the Week:
    • Tip #1: Pay your checks in your bank via your phone. This saves a lot of time instead of going to the bank. (Gordon shares the step-by-step process on what to do in this episode.)
    • Tip #2: Do the Deck of Cards Workout. This is good for those who dread exercising and are easily motivated by fun and playful activities. Gordon suggests to do it 2-3 times a week.
  • Checklist When Doing Property Viewing:
Do your research beforehand. Find any available pictures and other important details of the property online. Make notes so you’ll be prepared what to ask the property agent or owner when you do your visit.
  • Ask the agent/vendor your questions. They’re there to help you. Gordon advises that you ask them while you’re roaming around the property.
  • Take plenty of pictures. Even if there are available photos of the property online, keep some pictures of the rooms, garden, etc. for yourself. This will become handy if you’re looking at a lot of properties.
  • Draw a floor plan, especially if you weren’t provided with the floor plan of the property. It doesn’t have to be a masterpiece; a rough sketch would do. And, if you already got the floor plan, make sure to double check.
  • Take your time when viewing the property. This saves you a second, third and so on property visit.
  • Keep a ready-to-go spreadsheet. Use Gordon’s spreadsheet which he uploaded on The Property Entrepreneur website.
