Plastic: Avoid. At. All. Costs.

Paper: Avoid (save the trees).

Metal: If you have one, keep it. If you don't have one and don't need it, skip the metal.

Bamboo: If you really need one, buy it.

All in all, most people don't need straws. And if you don't truly need something, why buy it? Skip the straw, save an ocean.
