Cultures around the world for thousands of years have had rites of passage to demonstrate the transition from childhood to adulthood. However, in western and modern Christian cultures, we don't have much in this department. If you think about it, we might be missing something of great value by not having that. The closest we have is baptism, but that seems more like a symbol of spiritual maturity than physical or worldly maturity. In this episode, we talk about some familiar and some strange examples of rites of passage in other cultures and look for inspiration on what we should do with our own children.
