In today’s episode I interview one of my lifelong friends, someone I personally look up to and have learnt so much when it comes to health. Patty Kennan, a wife and a mother of three beautiful children, a marathon runner and an entrepreneur. In this episode we discuss the importance of healthy eating for ourselves and our families. 

I share my personal journey of not having a healthy diet growing up and realizing the importance of food choices later in life, especially as a parent. Patty discusses her passion for fitness and health, emphasizing the importance of being in optimal health to be a better mother and role model for her kids. She talks about the significance of teaching children why certain foods are good for them and helping them make better choices.

Patty also shares practical tips, such as meal planning and grocery shopping based on a weekly menu, to make healthier eating choices more convenient. She highlights the importance of educating children about food and nutrition, such as understanding sugar content in foods.

We both reflect on our own upbringing and how our cultural backgrounds influenced our food choices. We emphasize the value of explaining to children why certain foods are good for them rather than just imposing strict rules. 

Overall, we acknowledge we need to make gradual changes towards healthier eating habits and the importance of being patient and persistent in this journey.
