006 - My Aligned Home: Creating Home with Purpose and Strengths

Today, I talk about purpose and strengths in home creation, which is the fourth lesson in the First Foundation of Home: Mindset & Motivation.

In this episode, we look at identifying our purpose, the benefits of purpose in our home creation and how it is related to our identity. And we discuss at how purpose and our strengths shape our homes, experiences of home creation and how they help us develop the mindset and motivation we need to create home we truly desire.


Here’s a recap:

  1. Purpose in the context of home creation is about creating our home in a way that is meaningful, purposeful and intentional. Understanding our purpose provides a roadmap for our home creation. Purpose can guide life decisions, it can influence behavior, it can shape goals, it can offer a sense of direction, and it can create meaning in our lives.
  2. A life and home without purpose can lack meaning, and can leave us feeling lost or like something is missing.
  3. Purpose has many benefits. Living on purpose feels alive,
    4. clear, and authentic. Research suggests that purpose is tied to happiness, health, longevity, better relationships, resiliency and even economic success.
  4. Our Strengths can not only help us discover purpose in our
    5. lives and homes, they can also help us live purposefully. Leaning into our strengths in the context of our home expands our capabilities, making daily tasks more manageable and enjoyable.
  5. For us to have true success in our home creation we need to recognize our strengths, our accomplishments and the wins (big and small) we are having in our homes and our lives.
