007 Don't Use a Shakespeare Voice - Talk Like A Human!

Listen Later

How often have you been to a production of Shakespeare and thought it sounded very Shakespearean but didn't really understand a lot of what was going on?
We have a sort of impression that Shakespeare has to sound a certain way to be done right, but this isn't true, but instead often puts up a barrier between the company and the audience,  and gets in the way of our connecting with the story.

In the same way having a 'Talking To Children' voice will also out up a barrier between us and the other smaller humans we engage with, because it puts an Us and Them idea into the conversation and subsequently disconnects us.
