Richard is an actor and musician, born in Los Angeles and raised in Toronto. He is the oldest of two brothers. His father is an engineer, his mother is an accountant and his brother Winston Torr is a professional artist based in Berlin, Germany.

With hopes to become a software programmer, his parents noticed his affinity with the arts. After struggling with this for years, they finally gave in and decided to fully support his decision.

Richard worked as a professional musician, producing albums and composing for films. He decided to make the transition into acting after Mara Santino (agent/manager) approached him and convinced Richard that acting is what he should be doing. He was so glad she was right.
