[008] Reframing Your Goals for 2022

Happy New Year!

New year, new you right? It's nice feeling like you're starting off fresh BUT sometimes the new year also brings up feelings of doubt. Maybe you're not where you want to be or you feel like you made too many goals last year and didn't accomplish anything.

When looking back at last year it's easy to feel like you didn't do enough but here are some things to consider:

1] Were the goals you had completely new? 

A lot of times we set goals and have no idea how to really accomplish them. We are learning along the way so of course things are going to be difficult. We aren't perfect and the only way we can keep moving forward is to try to be consistent as best as we can. Take a look back and ask yourself what you did well and keep doing those things. Recognize areas where you fell short and find a way to improve.

2] Are you being authentic to who you really are?

Don't set goals just because someone else is doing it! Your lifestyle and personality are totally different from every single other human on this planet. Make sure the goals you have are something you truly want to achieve and you're doing it in a way that is true to you.

3] Have you gotten real with yourself about why you missed the mark?

It's hard to reflect on area where you feel like you have failed but, in doing so, you actually might learn something. A lot of the time we feel like we lack motivation and that's why we don't get things done. I've learned that maybe we are just really overwhelmed with life that it's hard to accomplish anything else. That's okay! It happens to all of us. Maybe there is something you can take off of your plate or there's a way you can rearrange your schedule to make hitting your goals easier.

In 2022 I hope you are able to grow in ways your never thought possible, rest when you need to, and enjoy the journey!
